Ny bokserie av Joe Abercrombie

Det kommer en del boknyheter även så här mitt i sommarens nyhetstorka. En sådan är att Joe Abercrombie avslöjat att han nästa år kommer att ge ut boken Half a King, den första i en ny serie på tre delar. Den kommer inte att utspela sig i samma fantasyvärld som hans tidigare böcker, på sin hemsida säger han att "It’s set in a very different world with what you might call a viking or anglo-saxon feel." Nytt är också att de här böckerna riktar sig delvis till en något yngre målgrupp, tanken är att de skall passa både YA-läsare och vuxna fantasyläsare. Av detta förstår man att det inte kommer bli lika mycket våld och blod i de nya böckerna. "It will be an occasionally light-hearted and feel good, occasionally savage and cynical coming of age story..." säger Joe Abercrombie själv rätt kryptiskt på Twitter.

Tyvärr är det ett helt år kvar tills man får läsa Half a King, för den kommer inte ut förrän i juli 2014. Sedan skall de två andra delarna följa i januari respektive juli 2015. Mer om det hela kan man läsa på Joe Abercrombies hemsida, där han också avslöjar att det här inte på något sätt innebär att han sagt farväl till fantasyvärlden i First Law-böckerna. Tvärtom planerar han ytterligare en trilogi som utspelar sig där, men den lär dröja ett par år innan vi ser något av. Många böcker verkar han dock ha på gång, det är helt klart!
